Tips and precautions for conservation

Know some important information to make your choice of Karsten´s bath towels easier.

  • Weight – It determines the volume of the towel. Heavier towels contain more cotton in their composition and are even more resistant and comfortable.
  • Softness – The addition of industrial softeners on the finishing process makes the towel much softer and pleasant to touch.
  • Sizes – Towels can be found in many different sizes. The largest ones involve the whole body and provide more comfort. The smaller ones are practical and can be taken virtually anywhere.
  • Coordination – Karsten´s bath line has coordinated sets for men and women. They also have coordinated patterns with the Bed line.

Conservation precautions:

  • Wash the pieces preferably in cold water;
  • For the first times, wash them separately from other clothes, without mixing light and dark colours;
  • The soap powder should not be used in large quantities and it must be diluted in order to avoid stains or mold;
  • Do not exaggerate on the use of softener because it forms a pellicle over the yarns which reduces the water absorption;
  • Do not use bleach or any other chlorine based products. They attack the fabric dyes modifying even those in white colours;
  • Products such as tanning lotions, makeup, body creams and lotions, hair bleaches, acne lotions and similar products may also cause stains on the fabrics;,/
  • Do not overload the washing machine. Always respect the capacity, the weight and the volume indicated by the manufacturer;
  • Avoid washing and drying in temperatures superior to 140ºF;
  • Avoid the excessive exposure to sunlight in order not to make the piece feel rough nor to alter its colour;
  • Maintain the product considerably opened during the dry in order to avoid fungus and bacteria;
  • When handling the bath towels, avoid using watches, rings or other objects that may pull yarns off the pieces;
  • To give back the good looks of the pieces, the pulled yarns must be cut;
  • When ironing the bath towels, use the medium temperature and avoid steam iron in order to prevent against humidity and mold.

How to organize and put away your bath towels:

In order to gain space and organizing the towels put the away in small rolls and separate them by colour. If you prefer, form a “sandwich” with the bath towel, folding the face towel and mat towel inside it.
